I can't find an open position that is suitable for me. What should I do?

If you cannot find a job that suits you, we recommend that you visit the local career site of the country you are interested in. There you will also find the opportunity to submit a unsolicited application. The local sites are listed e.g. on the Job Board.

How can I be sure that my application has been received?

After your registration you will receive a confirmation of receipt. Please also check your spam folder. If you miss this information, we recommend that you use the contact options mentioned in the job advertisement or resubmit your application.

I know someone who works at METRO. Can they recommend me?

Our employees know us best and we trust that they know best who fits to METRO. If you have a contact at METRO his or her referral is highly welcome. The employee should know the local referral possibilities or can reach out to the local HR to ask for.

I have the invitation to the interview. What can I expect?

Congratulations to your invitation! We are very keen on creating a great candidate experience and giving you an authentic insight about your role and working at METRO during the interview. As our guiding principles are the guideline for the selection of future employees, you can be sure that you will hear from them during the interview. So take the opportunity to prepare yourself in advance and, for example, read more about our Corporate Culture.

Do you conduct virtual interviews while almost everyone works remotely?

The health and safety of our candidates and employees is very important to us. Therefore, we will conduct online interviews if the situation does not allow for a face-to-face meeting.

What should I do if I cannot connect to my virtual interview?

We always recommend logging in a little earlier to test your connection and to check if the login is working properly. If you have any technical problems, please contact your local HR contact or the person who invited you for an interview.

Can I get feedback on my interview?

We are very interested in providing you with constructive feedback on the interview and the next steps. If you do not receive feedback or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask your contact person in the Human Resources Department for assistance.

How can I prepare for my job interview?

Before you apply, we strongly recommend that you get to know our unique culture and employee experience. It is also helpful to read and think about these points in the job advertisement. You can also find more information under Global Hiring Principles.
