METRO receives A- in the climate rating of the Carbon Disclosure Project

METRO is one of only 10 companies in Germany on the list of A-List companies. Overall, the list of A-List companies has decreased from 280 last year to 200 this year. The main reason for this is a sharp rise in expectations of the companies. This once again underlines the company's pioneering role in its activities to reduce CO2 emissions, mitigate climate risks and develop a low-carbon economy.

METRO was also rated in the 2 areas of water protection and forests. In the case of water, METRO was able to maintain a B rating. In 3 evaluated categories in the area of forests, METRO is better than the industry average (palm oil, soy, paper): palm oil was rated B, paper and soy B-, cattle C. CDP uses a detailed and independent methodology to assess these companies and assigns a score ranging from A to D-.
